A Chinese company has developed a device to capture the 'real' feeling of 'real' physical intimacy, i.e. kissing, between couples or lovers who are far away. However, a similar device named 'Kissinger' was invented in 2016 by the Imagineering Institute of Malaysia. But it had a touch-sensitive silicone pad instead of life-sized lips.

And the Chinese device called 'Remote Kiss' has a pressure sensor and silicone lip moving device. As a result, it can create a 'real kiss' sensation according to the pressure, movement and temperature of the user's lips. Along with kisses it can also mimic the user's voice.

Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology has taken the patent of this device in China. The main inventor of the device is Jiang Zhongli.

The online kissing device has already been advertised on Chinese social media Weibo. It is said that even strangers can join the 'kissing square' function of the device's app. A stranger who likes each other can go to the function and ask permission to kiss.

In addition, China's largest online shopping site Taobao has given dozens of user reviews about the device, where they have various points about its pros and cons. The device is priced at 288 yuan ($41).

Meanwhile, US media CNN reported that while some joked about the device on social media, many called it 'obscene'. Many are concerned that minors may also be encouraged to buy and use it.

According to CNN, in order to kiss someone, the user must first download a mobile app and connect the device to the mobile's charging port. After that, if you connect to the app with your partner on the other end, both of you can make video calls and exchange kisses. On the other hand, its inventor Jiang Zhongli told the Chinese media Global Times that he and his university girlfriend were far apart. At that time they used to communicate with each other on phone. That's when he came up with the idea of making such a device. He then applied for a patent for the device in 2019, but that patent expired in 2023. Now he hopes someone else can improve the device and enrich the design.
